Climate activists are at it again, and this time, they’ve targeted none other than Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) himself. Manchin was speaking at Harvard University, probably about something important, when a group of these so-called “climate activists” decided to crash the party. They repeatedly accused Manchin of using his office to enrich himself. One activist even had the audacity to call him a “sick f**k.” Talk about drama!
To his credit, Manchin didn’t take the insult lying down. He immediately jumped out of his seat, ready to confront the agitator. But before he could, a security guard intervened and effortlessly tossed the activist to the ground. It’s like something straight out of a Hollywood movie, isn’t it?
The Climate Defiance group, which I guess is responsible for this little stunt, proudly posted a video of the incident online. They bragged about how they ‘humiliated’ Manchin in front of the ‘Harvard elites.’ I don’t know about you, but I’d hardly call getting thrown to the ground by a security guard a win. But hey, whatever floats their boat.
Even after their comrade got manhandled, the remaining activists continued to berate Manchin. They rejected his offer to have a discussion, instead chanting “Protect our futures, not our profits!” I’m sorry, but when did shouting slogans become a substitute for meaningful conversation?
BREAKING: we just called Joe Manchin a sick fuck. We humiliated him in front of a herd of Harvard elites. He squared up. We held firm. Barbaric murderer, hideous fiend, he torches humanity and laughs. pic.twitter.com/1ajrQsKnbJ

Now, let’s talk a bit about Manchin. This guy has been in the Senate since 2010, serving as a swing vote on numerous occasions. He’s sided with Republicans on some issues and with Democrats on others. However, he announced his retirement last year, probably because his support for President Biden’s massive infrastructure bills didn’t sit well with his constituents. Can’t say I blame them.
Manchin had even been considering a presidential bid with the No Labels party, but he ruled that out earlier this month. It’s almost like he realizes that being in the middle of the road gets you run over.
The whole incident is a perfect example of the state of political discourse in our country today. Instead of engaging in thoughtful debate, some people would rather shout insults and disrupt public events. It’s a sad commentary on our times, don’t you think? At least it gives us something to talk about.
