According to CNN, some high-ranking Democrats and donors are contacting up-and-coming party members and informing them that Joe Biden has will actually NOT be running for re-election. These Democrats have spoken with potential candidates about the possibility of entering the race, as Biden faces difficulties during his time in office.
Several polls have indicated that when pitted against the top two Republican presidential candidates, former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Biden faces difficulties.
There are even people making calls to potential Democratic candidates and informing them that Biden, despite his previous statements and campaign launch, will not run for president due to his age. However, Biden’s team has denied these claims and confirmed that he is indeed running for president and is actively preparing for his campaign.
California Governor Gavin Newsom appears to be attempting to gain more national recognition as President Biden faces difficulties. Newsom, who is 55 years old, has been criticizing Florida Governor DeSantis and was interviewed by Sean Hannity on Fox News. He has also used leftover campaign funds to support Democrats running in 2024 and plans to travel to Republican-leaning states to increase Democratic voter turnout.
According to sources, including senior Democrat advisers, there are concerns about the sluggishness of Biden’s campaign. The Democrats who still support Biden are relying on voters being more driven by their animosity towards Trump than their support for Biden. Well-known strategist, Lis Smith, believes that voters will be more motivated to vote against Republicans.
Morning Consult, an organization often referred to by the Trump campaign, conducted an exit poll in the 2020 presidential election. The poll showed that 44% of those who voted for Biden did so to vote against Trump. On the other hand, only 22% of those who voted for Trump did so to vote against Biden.
