It seems like Joe Biden has been served a healthy dose of reality, courtesy of East Palestine, Ohio Mayor Trent Conaway. The mayor, showing a level of sass that I can only applaud, suggested that the most fitting time for Biden to visit their town would be in February 2025. Why then, you ask? Well, according to the mayor, that’s when Biden will be on his book tour. Yes, you read that right, a book tour. Not an official presidential visit, but a book tour. Seems like Mayor Conaway is not-so-subtly hinting at a Trump victory in 2024.
Now, this isn’t just a case of political banter. The backdrop to this epic statement is a toxic explosion that rocked East Palestine nearly a year ago. And guess what? The Biden administration’s response was, let’s just say, underwhelming. Despite the urgency of the situation, the federal response was sluggish and inadequate. The town needed support, and they needed it fast. But it seems like the White House was too busy with other things to give East Palestine the attention it deserved.
Mayor Conaway, bless his heart, tried to extend an olive branch. He invited Biden to visit the town, hoping for some federal involvement. But alas, the White House didn’t seem to get the memo, and the lack of action led to Conaway’s public expressions of disappointment. I mean, who wouldn’t be disappointed? But guess who did make a point to visit the town? None other than President Trump. Trump beat the White House to the spot and paid a visit to the town. In fact, just one month after the tragedy, Mayor Conaway endorsed Trump at a GOP dinner with Eric Trump.
In a recent interview, the mayor reaffirmed his stance, saying, “I 100% stand by the comment about the book tour. I think that’s the best time for him personally.” Well, there you have it, folks. The mayor has spoken, and the message is loud and clear. Maybe it’s time for Biden to take a hard look at his priorities and start delivering on his promises. After all, actions speak louder than words, right?

HEAR IT – THINGS ARE REALLY BAD: East Palestine Mayor Trent Conaway says he did not need to invite Donald Trump to come visit after the disaster, but he had to put out a personal invitation for Joe Biden to visit after a year. WATCH pic.twitter.com/ronIkxIspM

“I haven’t had the occasion to go to East Palestine yet, there’s a lot going on here and I just haven’t been able to break,” Biden said back in September.
“I was thinking I’d go to East Palestine this week, but then I was reminded that I’ve literally got to go around the world. I’m going from Washington to India to Vietnam to… and so it’s going to be wild,” said the president, who added that he is “making sure” the Ohio town had what it needed to survive the disaster.
