In a recent revelation that’s set political circles abuzz, New York Times writer Maggie Haberman threw fuel on the speculative fire regarding Tucker Carlson as a potential Vice Presidential pick for former President Donald J. Trump.
Haberman, while speaking on The Dispatch podcast, confirmed that she’s hearing rumors about the Fox News host being considered for Trump’s running mate. “It’s a real thing that I am hearing as a possibility,” she stated.
According to The Daily Caller, Haberman shared her insights about the likelihood of this happening. “The likelihood of it, I don’t know,” she said. “I think there will be a pretty professionalized vetting process, honestly.” She went on to suggest that Trump’s current political team is the best he’s had, and there’s a different level of control now.
This speculation gained momentum after Trump teased the idea during The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show on Nov 9th, stating “I like Tucker a lot. I guess I would consider him. He’s got great common sense.” A couple of weeks later, Carlson was spotted alongside Trump, Kid Rock, and UFC President Dana White at UFC 295 at Madison Square Garden in New York, further fuelling the speculation.
Podcast legend Joe Rogan described the crowd’s response to Trump’s presence as ‘bananas’, likening Trump, Carlson, and Kid Rock to the “Right Wing Avengers”. He noted the difference in the crowd’s reaction compared to previous times when Trump entered the arena.

Donald Trump Jr., in response to the speculation, posted a video on social media endorsing the idea of Carlson as VP. He said, “One way to make sure this election is as entertaining as possible would be to have Tucker Carlson as our VP nominee.” He also added, “Imagine the Tucker Carlson-Kamala Harris Vice Presidential debates. That’s it!”
