Looks like President Trump isn’t wasting any time getting America’s immigration system back under control. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been ordered to seriously ramp up deportations, with daily arrest quotas skyrocketing to between 1,200 and 1,500 illegal aliens per day. That’s right—no more of Biden’s weak, half-hearted enforcement policies. This administration is taking border security seriously.
According to reports from the Washington Post, ICE’s new marching orders are crystal clear: every field office across the country is expected to make at least 75 arrests per day. And if they don’t? Let’s just say there will be consequences. The days of looking the other way are over—Trump’s not playing around, and neither is his team.
President Trump himself made it clear that these efforts are already underway and making a difference. “It’s going very well. We’re getting the bad, hard criminals out,” Trump said while visiting Hurricane Helene survivors in North Carolina. “These are m*rderers. These are people that have been as bad as you get. As bad as anybody you’ve seen. We’re taking them out first.”
And who’s leading the charge? None other than Border Czar Tom Homan, the guy who knows how to get the job done. He told Fox News that the administration is laser-focused on public safety threats—criminal aliens with serious records—but made it clear that no one who is in the country illegally is off-limits. “If you’re in the country illegally, you’re on the table,” Homan bluntly stated. “It’s not okay to violate the laws of this country.” Finally, someone in government saying what everyone is thinking.
Meanwhile, leftist media outlets like the Washington Post are, predictably, losing their minds. They’re wringing their hands over so-called “human rights abuses” and referring to illegal aliens as “non-criminals” and “migrants without a criminal record.” Senior Trump advisor Stephen Miller wasn’t having it, firing back on X: “‘Non-criminals’ is a strange word to use for foreign nationals who have broken into America, stolen jobs, stolen identities, and ignored court orders.” Well said.
In cities like Chicago—one of the many sanctuary cities openly defying federal immigration law—ICE has already teamed up with other federal agencies for targeted enforcement operations. This crackdown is showing sanctuary city politicians that they do not get to pick and choose which laws to follow.
Bottom line? The Trump administration is delivering on its promise to enforce the law, protect American jobs, and put an end to the lawlessness at the border. And this is just the beginning.
