In this case, they rerouted the deportation process through the Department of Defense, not Homeland Security. Why? Because federal courts cannot dictate military operations. You want legal genius? Three deportations took place on March 31, 2025, all via DOD aircraft with no DHS personnel on board. And yes, every single one of them had already been ordered removed by an immigration judge. The only “crime” committed here was that the Trump administration had the audacity to follow through on it, despite judicial activism trying to tie their hands.
