How serious is the case against President Trump? Is it just nonsense? Is he going to get a slap on the wrist? Is this just more of a witch hunt like the Democrats have been doing for all of these years already? There are a lot more questions that are unanswerable at the moment than there are questions that can be answered in this case.
As you know, President Trump was charged with multiple felonies containing 37 counts. Will they all stick? I think it’s fair to say no. Will any of them stick? Well, I don’t know honestly. I’d like to say no, but law professor Jonathan Turley and Trey Gowdy, who is a former prosecutor seem to think that things aren’t looking too good for President Trump.
“The problem is that he’s got to run the table, he’s 76 years old, [and] all the government has to do is stick the landing on one count and he could have a terminal sentence,” Turley said. “You’re talking about crimes that have a 10- or 20-year period, as a maximum. The evidence here is quite strong.”
According to Turley, even though some charges may be dismissed after the trial jury hears Trump’s defense team, the fact that he is facing 37 counts is still a significant issue for the former president.
“But some of this evidence is coming from his former counsel,” he said. “And these are very damaging statements that have been made against him. It may be hard to move those. The fact is, both things may be true. Yes, the Department of Justice may have been out to get him, but he made it easy. If you look at what is being described in this indictment, [when] confronted with someone that he felt was trying to get him, he couldn’t have made it more easy for them to do so.”
When asked about the chance of some evidence being deemed inadmissible and not seen by the jury, Trey Gowdy, a former prosecutor, pointed out that the strongest evidence against Trump is something he said himself.
“Well, the most damning piece of evidence to me is the audio tape. I mean, you want to talk about consciousness of guilt,” he said. “You want to talk about knowledge and intent. I mean, those are the darlings of a prosecutor’s nursery. And that came from President Trump’s own mouth.”

Let’s all pray for President Trump that all of this will end well for him and badly for the Democrats and their never-ending witch hunt.
