Authorities in Colorado have arrested a transgender person for planning mass shootings at various institutions in the region. The accused was taken into custody on March 31, soon after a terrible shooting incident at a Christian school in Nashville by a transgender extremist claimed six lives, including three children. The accused is a biological male who prefers a female name and uses “she/her” pronouns.
The 19-year-old individual has been charged with multiple offenses, including two counts of criminal attempt to commit murder in the first degree, menacing, criminal mischief, and interference with educational institutions. The accused had targeted several educational institutions in the area, including Timberview Middle School, Prairie Hills Elementary, and Pine Creek High School. Additionally, the accused had planned to attack churches in the area.
Law enforcement officials received a call from a family member who expressed concern about the suspect’s unstable behavior and severe anger issues. Complying with COVID health guidelines, responding officers apprehended the suspect while wearing personal protective equipment. A spokesperson for the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office revealed that the accused was in the midst of transitioning at the time of arrest.
During a search of the suspect’s residence, authorities found numerous containers filled with rotting food and multiple alcoholic beverage containers scattered about. The home was littered with piles of trash, and there were holes in the walls and a damaged door. When questioned by law enforcement, the suspect indicated through physical gestures their intent to carry out the planned attacks. The individual had been researching 3D printing of firearms and creating lists of individuals to target, collecting information on how to make bombs, and even had a manifesto outlining their plan of attack. The motive behind the suspect’s actions is currently unknown.
