The Biden administration is under fire yet again after a recent report revealed that it is hastily auctioning off border wall materials ahead of President-elect Trump’s return to office. In response, Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick announced his state is ready to buy every piece up for sale and hand it directly to Trump for border wall construction.
The report revealed that sections of the steel border wall, initially intended for Trump’s border security initiative, are being sold off through GovPlanet auctions. The listings include “32.91’ X 7.91’ Steel Bollard Wall Sections w/Grout,” with starting bids as low as $5.00. Scheduled auctions are set for December 11 and December 18, raising concerns that the Biden administration is actively undermining Trump’s ability to fulfill his pledge to finish the wall.
Appearing on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle, Patrick expressed his outrage and a determined plan of action. “Trump made clear during his campaign that he intends to finish construction of the border wall, making use of the materials that have remained untouched since President Joe Biden took office,” Patrick said. “If they want to sell it off, fine — Texas will buy it.”
He pledged to use Texas’s budget surplus for border security. “I will bid on all of that wall, and we will give it to Donald Trump,” Patrick declared. “We’ve got about $6 billion allocated for border security in Texas. We’ll buy it all.”
Host Laura Ingraham humorously warned Patrick not to drive up the cost. “Don’t drive up the cost, Dan. It’s only five bucks apiece,” she said. Patrick chuckled but remained resolute, saying, “I will go in and buy it all.”
Patrick then took aim at the Biden administration, accusing them of sabotaging Trump’s efforts and jeopardizing national security. “This tells you everything you need to know about Biden. They’re greenlighting this to let more people in,” Patrick argued. “They’re traitors to this country, letting in terrorists, murderers, and rapists.”
The lieutenant governor also floated the idea of slowing down the transport of these materials to delay the auctions. “Maybe we need to start pulling over these trucks to check their weight,” he suggested. “We need to do everything we can in Texas to stop this.”
Patrick’s fiery remarks reflect widespread frustration among conservatives over the Biden administration’s border policies. With Trump set to take office in January, his promise to secure the border remains a key pillar of his presidency. Patrick’s commitment ensures Texas won’t let Biden’s last-minute efforts derail Trump’s mission.
