Adam Schiff has to be one of the most divisive and partisan representatives that has ever set foot into Washinton, D.C. He has been a very vocal critic of President Trump and has promoted numerous baseless conspiracy theories. He previously used his position as Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee to leak information to the media with the intention of tarnishing the reputation of the President and other Republicans.
Now that Democrats are no longer in control of the House, Schiff has hinted at the possibility of running for the US Senate when Senator Dianne Feinstein, who is currently 89 years old, retires. However, Feinstein recently filed the necessary paperwork to run for re-election in 2024, suggesting that she may continue to serve in her position. It would surely be in the best interest of the country if both of these controversial politicians were to leave office and not return.
Schiff said, “Well, I’m not usually asked the question in that form. You know, look, I am getting a lot of encouragement to run for the Senate from people in California and colleagues here in Congress. If Senator Feinstein retires, then I will give it very serious consideration. You know, at this point, I think we’re waiting to see what Senator Feinstein has to say about her plans, but yes, it is something I’m giving serious consideration to.”
Adam Schiff’s potential run for the US Senate is a cause for concern due to his previous actions as Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, including leaking information in an attempt to damage the reputation of President Trump and other Republicans. If elected to the Senate, there is a valid concern that he may continue to advance certain agendas without regard for facts or democratic principles, which could increase polarization within Congress.
