You’ve got to hand it to Sheryl Crow—she really thought she was making a bold political statement by selling her Tesla in protest of Elon Musk’s support for President Trump. The only problem? Tesla already got her money, and absolutely no one cares.
Crow, who has been a loyal mouthpiece for the Democratic Party for years, took to Instagram over the weekend to announce her grand act of resistance. “My parents always said… you are who you hang out with,” she wrote, alongside a dramatic video of her Tesla being towed away. So let’s get this straight: she’s upset that Musk is working with Trump, so her solution is to… sell a used car? That’ll really show him!
Sheryl Crow says she has sold her Tesla and donated the proceeds to NPR.

There comes a time when you have to decide who you are willing to align with. So long Tesla. Money donated to NPR, which is under threat by… pic.twitter.com/W9mZHWVovc— Yashar Ali 🐘 (@yashar) February 15, 2025
To make matters even funnier, Crow announced that she would be donating money to NPR, the taxpayer-funded propaganda machine that’s currently under scrutiny for left-wing bias and anti-free speech rhetoric. This is the same NPR whose CEO, Katherine Maher, was recently caught saying that the First Amendment is a “challenge.” That’s right, the head of a major news organization thinks free speech is a problem, not a fundamental right. And Crow, in her infinite wisdom, is rushing to throw money at them. It’s almost poetic.
Not vets.
Not hurricane victims.
Not starving children.
Not kids with cancer.
Not a single mother who desperately needs a car.
She donated to fake news government run NPR.😂😂😂 Virtue signaling failure. https://t.co/QFxz5M8FTm

Of course, the internet wasted no time roasting her. Conservative commentator Gunther Eagleman hilariously pointed out her hypocrisy by posting a picture of her cozying up to Hollywood predator Harvey Weinstein. Ann Coulter piled on, quipping, “With Her Musical Career Behind Her, Sheryl Crow Is Now Selling Used Cars.” And then there was Brendan Carr, Trump’s FCC chair, who took Crow’s virtue-signaling as an opportunity to remind everyone why NPR doesn’t deserve taxpayer money. “Wouldn’t take too many celebrities following Sheryl Crow’s lead and selling their cars to keep NPR going without taxpayer dollars,” he joked. That one had to sting.
But the real story here isn’t just Crow’s embarrassing political stunt—it’s the meltdown happening on the left over Elon Musk. Ever since Musk started working with President Trump on the DOGE initiative to audit federal agencies and cut government waste, liberals have been losing their minds. They were fine with him when he was just the eccentric billionaire behind Tesla, but now that he’s helping Trump drain the swamp? Suddenly, he’s the enemy.
President Trump and Musk are set to discuss the DOGE initiative and Trump’s first 100 days in office in an upcoming Fox News interview. Maybe Crow should tune in—she might learn something useful instead of throwing tantrums on Instagram.
