During an interview on the “Cats Roundtable” radio show, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who recently announced his presidential campaign, accused the CIA of being involved in the assassination of his uncle, former President John F. Kennedy. Kennedy stated that he believed this to be true beyond a reasonable doubt. The assassination occurred while President Kennedy was riding in a motorcade in Dallas, Texas, on November 22, 1963.
“The evidence is overwhelming that the CIA was involved in the murder and in the cover-up,” Kennedy said, referring to the book “JFK and the Unspeakable” by James Douglas, which compiled evidence supporting the theory of the federal government’s involvement.
Last month, Kennedy officially announced his candidacy for the 2024 Democratic presidential campaign, with a promise to end the merging of state and corporate power. He is the second Democrat after Marianne Williamson to announce their bid to replace Joe Biden in the White House. The CIA has refuted the theory put forth by RFK Jr. on their website, labeling it as a falsehood.
The US government’s Warren Commission Report states that Lee Harvey Oswald, who was a former Marine and had once defected to the Soviet Union, was the person who assassinated President Kennedy. Oswald was arrested and charged with the murders of Kennedy and Dallas police officer J.D. Tippit shortly after JFK’s death.
Oswald, who denied assassinating Kennedy and declared himself as a “patsy,” was not brought to trial. However, at the age of 24, Oswald was shot and killed by nightclub owner Jack Ruby at the Dallas Police headquarters on national television, less than two days after JFK’s assassination.
Joe Biden made public approximately 98% of the documents that the CIA and FBI wanted to keep classified regarding the JFK assassination. The remaining records are either completely or partially redacted, which is controlled by the National Archives. It was reported that the CIA and FBI wanted to keep some documents hidden to protect the identity of intelligence and law-enforcement informants who are still alive and could be at risk if made public.
For years, the National Archives and Records Administration has been claiming that the CIA and FBI disregarded the 1992 John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act, which requires the release of all related documents.
According to the 1992 John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act, files were released that showed the CIA’s Mexico City station had been keeping an eye on Oswald during his visit to Mexico City a few weeks before the assassination. Oswald had proudly declared his intention to kill President Kennedy. POLITICO suggested that these documents indicated that if the CIA station in Mexico had acted faster when they were monitoring Oswald in September and October 1963, they could have potentially prevented the assassination.
During one of his shows last year, Tucker Carlson claimed that he spoke to a source who had direct knowledge of documents related to Kennedy’s assassination. According to the source, the CIA was involved.
“We spoke to someone who had access to these still hidden CIA documents, a person who was deeply familiar with what they contained,” Carlson said. “We asked this person directly, ‘Did the CIA have a hand in the murder of John F. Kennedy, an American president?’
“And here’s the reply we received verbatim,” Tucker said. “‘The answer is yes. I believe they were involved. It’s a whole different country from what we thought it was. It’s all fake,’” he said, quoting the source.
