President-elect Trump is not mincing words when it comes to the mysterious drone sightings that have been plaguing northern New Jersey and parts of Pennsylvania. Frustrated by the lack of clarity from the Biden administration, Trump took to Truth Social on Friday night to demand immediate action, even suggesting that the drones be shot down if their origin remains unknown.
“Mystery Drone sightings all over the Country. Can this really be happening without our government’s knowledge? I don’t think so!” Trump wrote. “Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shoot them down!!!”

The president-elect’s call for transparency and action comes after a month of consistent, unexplained drone activity. The first reports came on November 18, when the FAA received alerts about drones flying in Morris County, New Jersey — notably close to Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster. The situation quickly escalated, prompting the FAA to issue temporary flight restrictions (TFRs) for the area after requests from federal security agencies.
These drones have been reported near critical military infrastructure, including Picatinny Arsenal, an essential U.S. Army research and development site. Despite assurances from authorities that the drones pose no immediate threat, their consistent presence, size — reportedly six feet in diameter — and ability to avoid detection have many residents on edge. Some reports indicate up to 180 drones spotted in a single night, with sightings expanding to Pennsylvania and Connecticut.
Governor Phil Murphy and the FBI have attempted to quell fears, stating that the drones do not appear to be operated by a foreign adversary. The Biden administration’s national security communications adviser, John Kirby, downplayed the incidents, claiming many sightings could be “lawfully operated manned aircraft” and that no evidence points to a national security threat. But this explanation hasn’t satisfied lawmakers or residents who are demanding answers.
New Jersey State Rep. Dawn Fantasia revealed that the drones have been flying in coordinated patterns with their lights off, making them difficult to track. She shared that these drones seem to evade traditional detection methods, which only adds to the sense of urgency.
Brett Velicovich, CEO of Expert Drones, noted, “Until something is found, it’s really difficult to say. We haven’t seen any clear images.”
Trump’s no-nonsense approach is resonating with many who are tired of vague reassurances and bureaucratic dithering. His call to shoot down the drones if their origins remain a mystery reflects the frustration of those who believe national security and public safety are at stake. As these sightings continue, all eyes will be on the incoming administration to see if decisive action is finally taken.
