It seems like the gloves are off and the boxing ring is set. Who’s stepping into the ring, you ask? None other than our very own Senator Lindsey Graham and Russian President Vladimir Putin. If this were a heavyweight boxing match, the title would be “Heavy Price for Heavy Crimes.” Graham threw the first punch during a CBS News interview on “Face The Nation,” warning Putin of a ‘heavy price’ for allegedly orchestrating the murder of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. Navalny, if you didn’t know, was quite the thorn in Putin’s side, leading anti-corruption efforts in Russia. Let’s just say, he wasn’t on Putin’s Christmas card list.
“If you’re Putin, I want you to know we’re not going to pull the plug on Ukraine,” Graham said. “We’re going to come after you. We’re going to make your country a state sponsor of terrorism, you’re gonna pay a heavy price for murdering this brave man.” Strong words, for a RINO.
But that’s not all, folks. Graham also spoke about another bipartisan bill aimed at addressing immigration and providing foreign aid to several countries, including Ukraine. He mentioned a conversation with former President Trump, who suggested turning the aid into a loan. “This was his idea, not mine,” Graham clarified. Now, isn’t that something? Even out of office, Trump’s ideas are still shaping policies.
Graham continued, “Why don’t we do this, make a favorable loan to all three of these allies? Let them pay us back when they can, if they can, because we’re 34 trillion in debt. That’s the Trump idea.” Sounds reasonable enough, right? After all, we’re not exactly swimming in money here.
And let’s not forget about the border. Graham called it a “national security nightmare,” citing a 2,000% increase in people on the terrorist watch list crossing the border and the lethal amount of fentanyl making its way into the country. “So I don’t want to wait, I want to act now on the border. I want to turn the aid package into a loan. That makes perfect sense to me.”
