Well, folks, it’s been quite a week in politics. And if you’re a fan of supreme trolling, then you’re going to love this. Jesse Watters, the ever-entertaining co-host on “The Five,” took a victory lap around his liberal co-host, Jessica Tarlov, after the U.S. Supreme Court gave former President Trump a unanimous win. Can you believe that? 9-0 in favor of Trump. I mean, who saw that coming? Oh wait, we did.
Now, for those of you who’ve been living under a rock, or perhaps just avoiding the drama, here’s a quick recap. The Supreme Court ruled unanimously that Trump cannot be booted from the 2024 ballot for being an “insurrectionist,” as lower courts and Democratic secretaries of state have claimed. Despite the incessant chatter from the left about Trump being the big bad wolf, the highest court in the land disagreed.
With a smirk that could light up a room, Watters couldn’t resist rubbing it in. He laid into Tarlov and other legal pundits who he claimed gave viewers “false hope” that Trump would somehow be denied a path to the Republican nomination.
What’s that saying about counting your chickens before they hatch? Yeah, that’s what they did.
Watters was all, “You know you look at your phone in the morning and you see nine-zero and you can’t wait to sit next to Jessica, and we’re here and we’re sitting next to Jessica and we can all just bask in the glory of the Supreme Court’s decision.” Talk about a mic drop moment.
But it wasn’t just Watters’ gloating that had us chuckling. His banter with Tarlov is always entertaining, but this time it was downright hilarious. After all, who doesn’t love a good, old-fashioned, political smackdown?
Watters pointed out that many of the same pundits who thought Trump’s case was doomed are now claiming they “always knew” it would be a unanimous decision. “They’re lying to you,” Watters declared. And you know what? He’s got a point.
In the end, this whole debacle proves just one thing: Never underestimate Trump. Or Jesse Watters, for that matter. Because while the left continues to spin their wheels, these guys just keep winning. And it’s about time someone said it.
So, here’s to the Supreme Court for upholding the law, to Trump for his victory, and to Watters for giving us the most entertaining political commentary we’ve seen in a while. Cheers, folks. Let’s see what next week brings.
