Greg Gutfeld Rips Apart Legacy Media for Falling for ‘Cheap Fakes’ Spin

In a blistering segment on Fox News’ “The Five,” Greg Gutfeld unleashed a tirade against legacy media, accusing them of eagerly swallowing the White House’s latest narrative that recent unflattering videos of Joe Biden were “cheap fakes.” Gutfeld’s critique didn’t just stop at the Biden administration; he took the opportunity to lambast the media’s history of selectively vetting stories, especially when it comes to former President Donald Trump.

Gutfeld called out the media for their glaring double standards. “Where were these anti-hoaxers when there was the ‘fine people hoax,’ the ‘drinking bleach hoax,’ the ‘koi pond hoax,’ the ‘migrant kids in cages hoax,’ the ‘border patrol whipping migrants hoax,’ the ‘lab leak is a conspiracy theory hoax,’ the ‘Russian collusion hoax,’ the ‘Don’t Say Gay Bill hoax,’” Gutfeld fumed, barely pausing for breath. He pointed out that the same outlets now decrying the “cheap fakes” aimed at Biden had shown little hesitation in pushing dubious stories that cast Trump in a negative light.

The controversy centers around a series of videos that have been circulating, purportedly showing Biden in a state of confusion and frailty. The White House quickly dismissed these videos as deceptive edits, framing them as part of a broader campaign to undermine the President. But Gutfeld isn’t buying it. He argues that the mainstream media’s readiness to accept this explanation without scrutiny reveals their inherent bias.

“When we see something, we vet it. The media does not because they’re the engine behind their hoaxes as long as they go in one direction,” Gutfeld asserted. He suggested that conservatives don’t need to resort to dishonesty to make Biden look bad because, according to him, the reality is already damning enough. “We don’t have to make up crap. Apparently, though, they hold us to a higher standard than they hold themselves,” he quipped.

Gutfeld wasn’t done there. He delved into the broader issue of moral hypocrisy, arguing that Democrats and their media allies believe their perceived moral superiority justifies all manner of deceitful practices. “They can call you Hitler, they can interfere with elections, they can wage unprecedented lawfare, they can say you’re banning books, they can say you’re xenophobic, they can say you don’t have any compassion for the homeless, they can say anything. They can lie, because they have the ‘moral high ground,’” Gutfeld said.

The segment has sparked a significant reaction, especially among conservative audiences who feel vindicated by Gutfeld’s takedown. It highlights ongoing frustrations with what they perceive as a biased media landscape that holds different political actors to vastly different standards.

This latest confrontation over the veracity of Biden’s videos is indicative of a larger battle over control of the narrative in American politics. As Gutfeld concluded, “The most dangerous person is one who excuses their bad actions in the name of the good, especially when the good never materializes.” It’s a stark reminder that in the world of media and politics, truth can often be the first casualty.

Unfortunately Greg was only talking to people who watch The Five and already agree with him. The least informed voters/people need to know this also.

Greg Gutfeld is spot on! This is the reason I watch Gutfeld clips and none of the other Fox News commentator’s that agree with the lame stream media (propagandists).
