The video of a Lutheran pastor in Minnesota leading her congregation in a prayer to celebrate LGBT pride month has recently gone viral. The prayer, which she called the “sparkle creed,” included the description of God as “nonbinary” and Christ Jesus as having “two dads.”
On June 25th, during a Sunday service live stream, Anna Helgen, co-pastor of Edina Community Lutheran Church (ECLC) in Edina, asked members of the church to stand in honor of the “sparkle creed” during a prayer.
“I believe in the nonbinary God, whose pronouns are plural.
I believe in Jesus Christ, their child, who wore a fabulous tunic, and had two dads and saw everyone as a sibling child of God.
I believe in the rainbow spirit who shatters our image of one white light and refracts it into a rainbow of gorgeous diversity. I believe in the church of everyday saints, as numerous, creative and resilient as patches on the (?) quilt, whose feet are grounded in mud and whose eyes gaze at the stars in wonder. I believe in the calling to each of us that love is love is love, so beloved let us love.
I believe, glorious God, help my unbelief, Amen.”
Here is an excellent rebuttal to this “creed”.
This supposed creed is an abomination. It is not rooted in truth. It is not rooting in anything other than their own blasphemous ideology. You want to know one clear way of knowing what the agenda is? They make a point to constantly ingrain it into everything. Imagine us doing this with normal things like working out, playing sports, or being good at chess. It would seem absurd. Yet, that’s exactly what they do. They are worshipping their ideological idols rather than the one true and living God.
