In a bombshell revelation Monday night during a tele-town hall with Wisconsin voters, Elon Musk warned that a major arrest is “imminent” in a massive Social Security fraud scheme involving the stolen identities of over 400,000 Americans. According to Musk, the identity theft operation was not just an isolated criminal effort—it’s part of a much broader, systematic abuse tied to illegal immigration and enabled by Democrats’ open-border policies.
“The government has got the thorniest computer problem I’ve ever seen,” Musk told voters. “Thousands of systems—many of them very, very old. Some of the software is older than me.” He specifically torched the decades-long IRS modernization effort, calling it a perpetual boondoggle that has been “five years away” from completion since 1995.
But the real story was what he revealed next.
Musk responded to a voter from Pulaski, Wisconsin, who asked if the Attorney General would be prosecuting Social Security fraud. His answer left jaws on the floor.
“Yes. In fact, I believe someone is going to be arrested tomorrow,” Musk said. “This is someone who actually stole 400,000 Social Security numbers and personal information from the Social Security database and was selling them to help people steal money from Social Security.”

But it’s worse than just fraud—it’s about power.
“This is a particular avenue of fraud for illegal immigrants and for voter fraud,” Musk continued. “Because the main way ID is established in the U.S. is via Social Security. If you compromise that, you can register to vote, collect benefits, and milk the system.”
Musk’s warning comes on the heels of a separate revelation by Antonio Gracias, one of the top officials in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), who exposed a surge in Social Security numbers issued to non-citizens—from 270,000 in 2021 to a staggering 2.1 million in 2024.
Gracias said DOGE discovered millions of non-citizens tapping into Medicaid and other benefit programs. Even more shocking: they found some had registered and voted in U.S. elections.
“We’ve referred them to prosecution at Homeland Security Investigations,” Gracias said. “That’s happening right now.”
Musk didn’t hold back on the Democrats either, accusing them of deliberately manipulating government agencies to incentivize illegal immigration.
“They’ve diverted FEMA funds—supposed to help Americans after natural disasters—to pay for luxury hotels in New York for illegals,” Musk said. “And they’re still there.”
The bottom line? Musk and DOGE are sounding the alarm on a fraud system that’s not just draining taxpayer dollars—but potentially reshaping elections. And now, someone’s about to get handcuffed.
