Burger King Worker Quits After 27 Years of Perfect Attendance and Insulting Gift

Kevin Ford, a dedicated Burger King cook, captured the hearts of millions when his story of unwavering commitment and a lackluster recognition gift went viral. After never missing a single day of work in 27 years at a Burger King located in Las Vegas McCarran International Airport, Ford was presented with a modest set of gifts from his employer—a backpack filled with a movie ticket, a Starbucks cup, and some candy. This token of appreciation for his near-three-decade service was met with public outrage, eventually leading to an overwhelming wave of support.

The viral story caught the attention of his daughter, Seryna, who decided to show her father the gratitude he truly deserved. She launched a GoFundMe campaign with a humble goal of $200, aiming to express their family’s appreciation for his hard work. The internet responded with an outpouring of generosity, amassing over $400,000. This significant sum not only underscored the public’s empathy but also paved the way for Ford’s new chapter in life.

With the funds raised, Kevin Ford is embarking on an entrepreneurial journey by launching a food truck, a dream venture he will share with his daughter. The truck, purchased for approximately $20,000, is equipped with a full kitchen setup, including an oven and fryer. Ford’s truck, affectionately branded as “K27Y” in homage to his viral fame—Kevin 27 years—will offer a menu rich with classic American fare like hamburgers and hot dogs. Additionally, Ford plans to incorporate Filipino dishes, paying homage to his Filipina fiancée, adding a personal and multicultural touch to the offerings.

Despite his new venture, Ford remains committed to his role at Burger King, planning to retire by May 2025, marking his 30-year anniversary with the company. This milestone reflects his steadfast loyalty and dedication, qualities that have resonated deeply with the public and led to the life-changing support he received.

This community-driven support has transformed not only Ford’s professional life but also his personal life. He recently purchased his first home in Pahrump, Nevada, marking a significant achievement made possible by the generosity of strangers. Ford’s story is a testament to the power of community and kindness, showcasing how collective support can turn a viral moment into a life-altering opportunity.

As Ford and his daughter prepare for the grand opening of their food truck at a local Home Depot in October, their journey stands as a beacon of hope and gratitude. It’s a reminder that recognition, when given freely and genuinely, can significantly impact lives, turning dreams into reality.

I hope Patriot Clash keeps up with this story and reports on it next May when Ford plans to retire. Because I’m thinking the Burger King franchise might fire him out of pettiness for making them look bad. I hope I’m wrong.

Wow! When I retired the guard graciously held the door so it would not hit me in the rear as I struggled out with my cardboard boxes.

His Food Truck Grand Opening should be across the street from the Burger King.

nice article, but misleading headline, thus making it clickbait and detracting from the article. The man did not quit. He is retiring in 2025 after 30 years of his life wasted at burger king and is pursuing his dream.
