President Trump can be partially credited for his claim about the 2020 election being rigged. However, the rigging may not have happened the way he thinks it did. It did not happen in offices in Arizona or Georgia where Republicans were supposedly banned while Democrats counted late-arriving votes. Trump did not lose because computers were wired to steal his victory. The cheating that likely prevented Trump from winning a second term happened close to home. In fact, it was an inside job.
According to congressional testimony from two IRS whistleblowers, there are several important revelations. One of the most significant is that members of Trump’s Department of Justice allegedly slowed down the investigation into Hunter Biden, which allegedly helped tip the 2020 election in favor of his father Joe Biden. The interference reportedly began when it became clear that Joe Biden was going to be the Democratic nominee. This claim was made by supervising agent Gary Shapley, who described the actions he and other IRS investigators wanted to take to collect evidence against Hunter for tax fraud and other crimes.
A plan was made to execute search warrants in four states – New York, California, Arkansas, and Washington D.C. Additionally, Joe Biden’s Delaware guest house was to be searched due to Hunter spending a lot of time there. However, the Department of Justice lawyers rejected the plan that was explained in a probable cause memo, for reasons that were not explained.
“After former Vice President Joseph Biden became the presumptive Democratic nominee for president in early April 2020, career DOJ officials dragged their feet on the IRS taking these investigative steps,” Shapley testified.
“By June 2020, those same career officials were already delaying overt investigative actions.”
According to Shapley, the rejections occurred well before the Justice Department’s “stand down” rule on political cases within a certain timeframe before an election. Shapley believes that the DOJ deliberately delayed investigative actions. Consequently, both the case and the election were compromised from the beginning. In their testimony, both Shapley and another agent, who remains unnamed, provided evidence suggesting that the investigation was obstructed by career officials and later by individuals appointed by Joe Biden.
According to sources, there are allegations that lawyers from the Department of Justice informed Hunter Biden’s legal team about upcoming surprise interviews and a planned search of a storage locker. This allowed for the team to potentially remove any potentially incriminating evidence. Additionally, the Justice lawyers were reportedly in charge of selecting which witnesses could be interviewed, which is not typical practice. The team led by Shapley, consisting of 12 IRS agents, was not given access to Hunter Biden’s laptop, despite it having been authenticated by the FBI in 2019.
“Investigators assigned to this investigation were obstructed from seeing all the available evidence,” he testified, calling the move “unprecedented.”
He also said they were instructed “to not look into anything related to President Biden.”
An example of their suspicions of wider crimes includes the infamous July 30, 2017, WhatsApp message from Hunter Biden to Chinese businessman Henry Zhao, where Hunter wrote: “I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled.”
If he didn’t receive a call or text from the specific individuals, “I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction.”
In 2020, Senate officials discovered that China sent wires totaling $5.1 million to Hunter Biden’s checking accounts on consecutive days. It is unclear if the “big guy” received any part of the funds. Some people believe that it was not a coincidence that the Hunter case was settled by Justice on favorable terms just two days before the testimony was made public.
It seems that Attorney General Merrick Garland and his aides may have tried to prevent public outrage by announcing that the case was over. However, Shapley’s testimony has put Garland in a difficult situation. According to Shapley, Garland may have lied to the Senate when he said that Delaware US Attorney David Weiss had the authority to bring charges in any district. Shapley claims that Weiss was actually prevented by Biden appointees from bringing charges in DC and California.
Garland said that the corruption allegations against Justice were dangerous because they attack an institution that is essential to American democracy and the safety of the American people. He also claimed his innocence. This statement echoes Dr. Anthony Fauci’s comments where he claimed, “I am science.”
It seems like he is under pressure. The recent testimony from the IRS also raises concerns about the time Bill Barr served as Trump’s Attorney General.
During his tenure, Barr highlighted the wrongdoing of former FBI Director James Comey and others who spied on Trump’s 2016 campaign. He also criticized the media’s role in this matter.
Barr appointed John Durham to investigate the 2016 scandal, and Durham found that the FBI did not have enough evidence to start the Trump probe. However, Barr did not seem to notice the suspicious activities during the 2020 campaign. Although he was aware of the Hunter Biden investigation, he didn’t realize that corrupt officials within the DOJ were once again using their power to manipulate the outcome of a presidential election. It’s clear that their efforts to assist Joe Biden weren’t limited to hindering the investigation of his son.
The FBI instructed tech companies like Twitter and Facebook to block The Post’s stories about Joe Biden’s alleged meetings with Hunter’s business partners, which were released through a laptop. They claimed that the story was part of a Russian disinformation campaign, which was also suggested by the Biden campaign and 51 former intelligence officials. It is unclear how much coordination there was between these plots. However, this effort was successful, which is unfortunate for the country.
According to polls taken after the election, there were enough Biden supporters who would not have voted for him had they been aware of The Post’s reports that would have swayed the election back to Trump. The IRS testimony appears to be a pivotal moment, but House Republicans should avoid hastily pursuing Garland and the president’s impeachment. The transcripts were made public during a busy news cycle, which included the Titan tragedy that claimed five lives and the efforts to remove Vladimir Putin.
According to GOP strategist Ed Rollins, it is assumed by the political class and media that all voters are news enthusiasts. Rollins advises that it may take up to two weeks for significant news to capture the attention of most individuals. Therefore, Rep. James Comer of Kentucky and other investigative leaders are advised to continue putting crucial witnesses under oath, such as Hunter Biden’s associates Devon Archer and Rob Walker.
