President Trump’s return to the White House has been causing shockwaves across the political world, and not just here in America. His influence is now so powerful that it’s actually getting foreign diplomats fired for badmouthing him.
Enter Phil Goff, New Zealand’s High Commissioner to the U.K., who apparently thought it would be a good idea to take a cheap shot at Trump in a public forum. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t.
It All Started With a Bust
The entire fiasco started with something seemingly small but symbolically powerful—Trump’s decision to restore the bust of Winston Churchill to the Oval Office. This move, which was widely seen as a rejection of Biden’s globalist appeasement strategy, immediately sparked debate, particularly among leftists who are still struggling to process Trump’s overwhelming election victory.

Previously Obama removed it, Trump returned it, and Biden removed it again.

Goff, speaking at Chatham House in London, used this as an opportunity to mock Trump. He referenced a famous Winston Churchill quote from 1938, comparing Trump’s desire for peace in Ukraine to British appeasement of Adolf Hitler. In other words, he suggested that Trump was too ignorant to understand history.

Well, Goff just learned a little history lesson himself—how quickly you can lose your job when you don’t read the room.
The Swiftest of Swift Justice
Within hours of his remarks, New Zealand’s Foreign Minister Winston Peters had Goff fired from his post. And the best part? Peters didn’t even bother consulting New Zealand’s Prime Minister before doing it—because he knew the backlash from Trump supporters worldwide would be enormous.
Peters stated:
“When you are in that position, you represent the government and the policies of the day. You’re not able to free-think, you are the face of New Zealand.”
The Global Reach of the ‘Trump Effect’
Let’s be honest: Trump-haters around the world are starting to panic.
Trump’s America First approach is back, his policies are resonating worldwide, and even foreign leaders now recognize that aligning themselves against him is a losing strategy.
The ‘Trump Effect’ is no longer just a catchy hashtag—it’s a political reality. Phil Goff found that out the hard way. Who’s next?
