James Biden’s relationship with Joe Biden has been used to his advantage in a shady business deal with the Saudi government. Former US Treasury official Thomas Sullivan stated in an affidavit that James Biden was hired to negotiate with the Saudis “because of his position and relationship” with then-Vice President Joe Biden. The result of this negotiation was a $132 million settlement.
In an interview, James Biden admitted that his brother’s name “didn’t hurt” when it came to getting the deal done. His wife Sara claimed that Joe and James Biden “told each other everything”, which directly contradicts Joe Biden’s statements that he never discussed family business deals.
The US company involved in the settlement asked James Biden to work with its law firm on the settlement deal, capitalizing on Joe’s influence as Vice President. The relationship became so concerning that the lawyers hired an investigator to question James and Sara about their involvement.
It turns out that before this settlement, James had a previous history with HillStone International – the subsidiary of this US company. They hired him back in 2010 as executive vice president and even gave him a minority stake in their company. David Richter, son of the former CEO, said that while he was not in favor of investing into HillStone, they shut it down at his insistence yet he still admitted that James had been helpful during this deal.
The unethical dealings of the Bidens have been documented through affidavits from multiple parties involved and interviews conducted by investigators – all showing how much Joe has tried to distance himself from these shady business deals despite being heavily involved in them due to his brother using his relationship for personal gain. There is no denying how much pull Joe has had over business relationships including those involving foreign governments when it comes to making settlements against them – all for profit at any cost regardless of who gets hurt along the way.
