Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) has warned gone off the deep end and warned Tucker Carlson that she will hold him accountable for “incitement of violence” if he continues to spread misinformation about the January 6th Capitol riot.
In a tweet on Monday, AOC wrote, “I’m going to hold Tucker Carlson accountable for inciting violence. If he continues to spread misinformation about January 6th, I will be calling on the DOJ to investigate him for incitement of violence.” In addition, she advocated for government regulations that would result in Carlson and others whom she disagrees with being removed from the air.
AOC issued a threat in response to Carlson’s recent segment on his show. In the segment, Carlson claimed that the January 6th riot was a “false flag operation” orchestrated by the FBI, and also referred to the rioters as “peaceful patriots” standing up for their rights. Some conservatives have criticized AOC’s threat, claiming that she is trying to silence Carlson’s free speech. However, AOC has stated that she is only trying to hold Carlson accountable for what he says.
“Tucker Carlson has a platform that reaches millions of people,” AOC said in a statement. “He has a responsibility to use that platform responsibly and to not spread misinformation that could incite violence.”
Some members of the Democratic Party conceal their desire to exercise power by indirect means, but Ocasio-Cortez openly embraces her authoritarianism.
We don’t know if Carlson will be investigated by the DOJ for prompting violence. Honestly, with corrupt Democrats in charge, it wouldn’t surprise me. Nonetheless, AOC’s statement highlights the increasingly strained relationship between liberals and conservatives in the US.
The left blames the right for disseminating false information and provoking aggression, while the right accuses the left of attempting to stifle freedom of expression. Only one of these is true.
AOC accuses Tucker Carlson and other Fox News hosts of “incitement of violence” and says they shouldn’t be allowed on air.
