The Biden White House placed the pride flag in the center with two American flags on either side, at a pride month event last Saturday. This arrangement upset some Americans, who felt that the flags should have been given equal prominence. During the event, President Biden praised the bravery and inspiration of the LGBT community, describing them as an example to the US and the world.
“Happy Pride Month!” Biden told the crowd. “Happy Pride Year! Happy Pride Life!”
“You’re some of the bravest and most inspiring people I’ve ever known. And I’ve known a lot of good folks,” Biden said. “You set an example for the nation — and quite frankly for the world.”
Rainbow flags were used to decorate the White House lawn and the building during the event.
Tom Fitton, the founder of Judicial Watch, pointed out that the display is a violation of the U.S. Flag Code. “To advance revolutionary transgender agenda targeting children, Biden violates basic tenet of US Flag Code and disrespects every American service member buried under its colors,” Fitton said.
The U.S. flag should always be in accordance with the Flag Code, “at the center and at the highest point of the group when a number of flags of States or localities or pennants of societies are grouped and displayed from staffs.”
U.S. Flag Code §7.
e. The flag of the United States of America should be at the center and at the highest point of the group when a number of flags… are grouped and displayed

There has been controversy surrounding the Biden Administration’s frequent display of Pride flags in the US and other countries. In 2021, Biden authorized the display of the flag at embassies worldwide, including those in Islamic countries and the embassy in the Holy See in Rome. Prior to this, Trump’s Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had prohibited embassies and consulates from displaying the flag.
