Florida Governor Ron DeSantis completely annihilated a reporter who had asked the governor about a wild conspiracy theory regarding his military service. The reporter, who asked the question obviously works for a liberal news outlet, asked DeSantis whether he had ever lied about his military background.
DeSantis then turned the tables on the reporter and accused him of spreading lies and defended his military service as honorable. He criticized the reporter, calling him disgraceful and urging him to feel ashamed.
The reporter posed a question that was not based on the truth, as there was no evidence to support claims that DeSantis had lied about military service. These claims had been made by a former Democratic Party operative who appeared to be trying to damage DeSantis’s reputation.
On Thursday in Israel, DeSantis had a heated exchange with a reporter. The following is a transcript of their conversation.
DESANTIS: No, no, all that’s totally, totally BS.
REPORTER: (Unintelligible)
DESANTIS: Who said that? How would they know me? Okay, think about that. Do you honestly believe that’s credible? So this is 2006, and I’m a junior officer. Do you honestly think they would remember me from Adam? Of course, not. They’re just trying to get into the news because they know people like you will consume it because it fits your preordained narrative that you’re trying to spin. Focus on the facts, and stop worrying about narratives.
Governor DeSantis’s response was a forceful repudiation of the left’s insinuations, demonstrating his determination to stand up for the truth and his unwillingness to be intimidated. His record of honorable military service speaks for itself and should not be sullied by spurious accusations. It showed that DeSantis is not afraid to stand up for himself and that he is not afraid to call out the left’s lies.
