Understandably, the wave of news surrounding the recent indictment of President Trump has been overwhelming. It rightfully should be. Crooked, George Soros-funded liberal DA Alvin Bragg has set a precedent. His bogus push to indict a former president has established a new benchmark for a political attack using the U.S. judicial system.
But since it’s blatantly obvious the case is a political sham, could there be another reason for what’s happening? Might the liberal left have a different, far more devious goal? Since virtually every legal expert questions the case on its merits, why would any district attorney, regardless of political ideology, push a jury to render such a baseless indictment?
Like most of the crooked schemes the left uses to seize and secure power, there’s something else driving this case. All Americans need to do is look at the surge in public sentiment towards the former president as a result of this case. Even before the indictment became official, President Trump’s appeal with core conservatives was inching higher.
Once the indictment was rendered, the former president’s ratings skyrocketed. For many months prior to the ever-increasing coverage of the looming indictment, President Trump seemed primed for a dogfight for the Republican presidential nomination. While the battle for the nomination was going to be against someone who hadn’t even announced yet, most felt a President Trump vs. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was a foregone conclusion.
The polls were close. Some even had the successful governor beating the former president. But that’s no longer the case. Following the baseless indictment, President Trump’s lead has ballooned. Some polls have the former president more than 25 points ahead of DeSantis. Sure, DeSantis hasn’t even announced his candidacy, but this is still a daunting development.

Experts figure a modest shift in poll numbers once that announcement is made, if it is made, but nothing is perceived to have the power to shift ratings this much. So, why would any progressive liberal want to see the popularity of President Trump grow? Wouldn’t this be an ominous sign that he’d be an insurmountable opponent in the 2024 presidential election?
That’s where a deeper look into what might be Alvin Bragg’s true motivation for pushing a legally unwinnable indictment begins. The left actually wants the former president’s popularity to grow. However, they want him to only rise in popularity among conservatives. Democrats feel more threatened by a Ron DeSantis Republican primary victory than President Trump.
Democrats seem to like their chances against the former president. But are they hoping for something they may later regret? Is the left betting that their bogus attacks on President Trump will dilute his popularity with swing voters? Can progressives actually think that over the next 18 months, Joe Biden is somehow going to appear remotely more coherent?
The left is banking, again, that they can guide a feeble-minded old fool across the finish line. They believe they have a formula to confuse the conversation so badly that Americans ignore the true leadership talents of President Trump. Democrats are hoping they can boost the former president to victory in the 2024 Republican primary. However, they better watch what they hope for.
