Another day, another viral clip, and this time it is not politicians arguing on cable news, it is a couple of ICE agents calmly doing their jobs while getting chased through an airport by someone who clearly had too much time on his hands.
The video making the rounds shows Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers walking through a terminal while a self-described activist follows them around, loudly demanding answers and tossing out accusations like confetti. According to the man, these agents are “terrorizing” people, wasting taxpayer money, and apparently hated by “the majority of Americans.” That is quite a list for two guys who are literally just trying to get from point A to point B without turning the airport into a debate stage.
What stands out is not the activist’s performance, which feels like something pulled straight from a social media highlight reel, but the response from the agents. One officer, wearing a clearly marked ICE vest, does not take the bait. Instead, he calmly asks, “Why is your voice so stressed out?” That alone probably did more to deflate the situation than any long-winded argument ever could.
When pressed again, the agent gives the most refreshingly simple answer you will hear all week, “I don’t have to.” And that is the reality. Federal officers are not obligated to stop and justify their careers to every passerby with a smartphone and a grievance.

Meanwhile, the second agent barely engages at all. He just keeps walking, which, if we are being honest, is probably the most effective strategy when dealing with someone looking for a reaction.
The activist, of course, does not let it go. He follows them through the terminal and even outside, escalating his rhetoric and throwing in accusations about “slaughtering innocent Americans,” which had nothing to do with the situation at hand. It is the kind of over-the-top language that might play well on certain corners of the internet but falls apart when confronted with basic composure.
Then there is the second viral moment, this time at LaGuardia, where another group of ICE agents is confronted with similar accusations about being “foot soldiers of a fascist regime.” Their response? They laugh. Not angrily, not aggressively, just laugh. You can almost see them trying to hold it together before finally cracking.
That reaction seemed to bother the activist even more than silence would have. Being ignored is one thing, being laughed at is another.
Here is the part that tends to get lost in all this. These agents did not raise their voices, did not engage physically, and did not abandon their responsibilities. They showed restraint, which is exactly what people claim to want from law enforcement, right up until it does not fit the narrative.
The activist later claimed he was “speaking truth to power.” Maybe. Or maybe he was just chasing airport employees with a camera, hoping for a viral moment that did not quite land the way he expected.
