Kari Lake who ran as a Republican candidate in the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election and had some seriously shady things happen which caused her to lose the race, recently made headlines after some new rumors emerged. Lake is now potentially running for Kyrsten Sinema’s United States Senate seat in 2024.
In response to these rumors, her team released a statement indicating that they are currently focused on winning Lake’s court case regarding the gubernatorial election. Recent internal polling from Blueprint Polling suggests that if Lake were to run for the Senate seat, she would be ahead of both Kyrsten Sinema and potential replacement Democrat Ruben Gallego.
The election saw several issues with Maricopa County voting procedures, such as hundreds of thousands of invalid ballots counted, many Election Day voting centers being sabotaged causing lines at some locations to last four hours or more, wrong ballot images printed on Election Day ballots which caused tabulators to jam and spit out ballots, 25,000 ballots added to the official vote count two days after the election ended and over 100 thousand signatures rejected but still counted. This led Kari Lake’s team to make the statement that they are focused on defending the sacred votes of Arizona citizens by attempting to win her court case.
The poll released January 11th showed that Kari Lake is leading both Kyrsten Sinema and Ruben Gallego should she decide to run for office. This is unsurprising given that Sinema has been reported as having voted 93 percent of the time in favor of Joe Biden’s agenda while Gallego has admitted himself to being a socialist – two views which are likely not popular amongst Republican voters.
In an interview about potential plans for running for Senate if elected Governor, Kari Lake said: “I find both [Sinema and Gallego] incredibly dangerous to the people of Arizona… [so] if I’m the only Republican who can beat them I would be willing to jump in”. She also noted that she wouldn’t go away quietly even if someone was willing to steal an election – likely referring back to allegations made around voter fraud in Maricopa County during this last election cycle.
