In a stunning revelation just days before the 2024 election, the former girlfriend of Doug Emhoff, Second Gentleman and husband to Kamala Harris, has come forward with shocking allegations about his violent behavior more than a decade ago. The woman, identified only as “Jane,” spoke with the Daily Mail and confirmed details of a troubling incident in which Emhoff allegedly slapped her in anger at a celebrity gala in France during the Cannes Film Festival in 2012.
According to Jane, what started as a glamorous evening at the amfAR event turned into a nightmare when Emhoff, unprovoked, slapped her so hard she spun around in shock. “There had been no fight, no argument,” she recalled. “It had been a completely fantastic event.” Jane, caught off guard in heels and a full-length gown, was left humiliated and furious. In response, she slapped Emhoff back, feeling stunned by the sudden and violent outburst. Emhoff, she claims, later excused his behavior by accusing her of flirting with the valet.
Jane’s account is corroborated by two former friends who also spoke with the Daily Mail, confirming her story. Jane described the moment as one where “his mask dropped,” revealing a side of Emhoff she hadn’t seen before. The incident left her shaken and confused, and she immediately called a friend in front of Emhoff to ensure he knew she had shared what had happened.
Wow. Doug Emhoff’s ex-girlfriend has come out to confirm that he hit her. She’s a prominent NY attorney who has been accepted in Dem circles for a long time. Is @KamalaHarris going to stand up for this woman or attack a victim?

Beyond the slap, Jane detailed their whirlwind relationship that had begun earlier that year. According to her, Emhoff “love-bombed” her, rushing to talk about marriage and children, and even suggesting he would leave his family behind to move with her to London.
It was during these intense few months that Jane said Emhoff admitted to having an affair with his daughter’s teacher—an affair that reportedly led to a pregnancy and subsequent miscarriage, which Emhoff downplayed.
According to Daily Mail,
‘I was living in New York, and Doug was living in Los Angeles,’ Jane said. ‘I met him on Match.com.
‘After work one night I met him for drinks at a hotel near Times Square.’
She said Emhoff’s odd behavior began immediately, when he invited his son Cole to join them about an hour into their first date in March 2012.
‘It was an odd request for a first date, but I also felt bad that his son was walking around the city waiting for his dad to finish his Match.com date. So I agreed. In retrospect, it should have been a red flag.’
Jane said their relationship consisted of ‘an intense few months’, with Emhoff discussing marriage and children after just weeks.
‘He flew me to Los Angeles in April [2012]. I stayed in his home for a week. The entire time, he was alluding to marriage and having children with me,’ she told DailyMail.com.
‘He was totally love-bombing me. He grabbed me round the stomach and talked about wanting more babies.’
Jane said that less than a month into her relationship she got a lucrative job opportunity in the UK, and Emhoff gave her the impression he was willing to leave his family behind.
‘He was really pushing me to pursue it, and he seemed like he was willing to come with me to London,’ she said. ‘He was ready to uproot, even though he had a family, and he had a child still in junior high school.’
The timing of these allegations, coming just 12 days before the election, has thrown the Harris campaign into crisis mode. The campaign confirmed Emhoff’s affair but has remained silent on the allegations of violence and the existence of a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) linked to a former nanny, adding more fuel to an already contentious election cycle.
Jane’s account paints a stark contrast to the public image Emhoff has cultivated as a supportive, non-toxic spouse. As she put it, “Every time I see Doug on TV portraying the persona of a perfect spouse and non-toxic man, I wonder if Najen [the nanny] is watching too and feeling as disgusted as I am.”
