Newly obtained CCTV footage from the Epoch Times completely debunks the Capitol Police’s statements regarding the death of Rosanne Boyland, a Trump supporter, on January 6, 2021. Contrary to the assertion that Boyland merely collapsed in the Capitol Rotunda around 5 p.m. and that a responding officer promptly initiated CPR, newly obtained footage challenges this narrative. It reveals that Boyland was already unconscious prior to being brought into the building.
In the latest video, a significant number of paramedics and Capitol Police officers can be observed carefully transporting an unconscious Boyland on a stretcher while diligently performing resuscitation procedures. These determined efforts persisted for a duration exceeding 40 minutes.
At around 4:13 p.m. on January 6th, Boyland found himself in the Lower West Terrace tunnel at the Capitol. While the protesters in the tunnel were peaceful at that moment, there had been clashes with the police shortly before.
At 4:20 p.m., the police deployed gas inside the tunnel, leading to a chaotic stampede of protesters and resulting in a crush within the confined space. Amidst the commotion, Boyland collapsed near the entrance of the tunnel and became trapped under a heap of bodies.
As reported by Justin F. Winchell, a friend and traveling companion, Boyland suffered a collapse after being hit in the chest by a projectile, presumably a pepper ball, fired by the police.
Phillip Anderson, a protester who stood alongside Boyland in the tunnel, expressed to the Epoch Times that breathing had become exceedingly challenging. “I felt it because I can’t breathe. That’s what it felt like,” Anderson said. “That’s what it felt like, ‘You’re not going to be able to get air inside if you don’t get out now.’”
The actions and life-saving attempts, or lack thereof, of Capitol Police officers in the tunnel contrasted sharply with those inside the building who made efforts to revive Rosanne Boyland.
In previously released footage from the Epoch Times, Capitol Police Officer Lila Morris can be seen striking Boyland’s unconscious body. Protesters quickly pulled Boyland away while pleading with the officers to save her life. However, when none of the tunnel officers stepped forward, the protesters took it upon themselves to perform CPR.

“Once again, we are very appreciative of these people trying to save her, but come to the same conclusion as before,” Bret Boyland, Rosanne’s father, said in a statement to the Epoch Times.
“We were relieved to see they were actually trying to save her,” he added. “Before seeing any of these videos we just didn’t know they did anything and maybe just shoved her over in some corner and ignored her.”
“This video is more comfort to that initial uncertainty we had and helped answer that original question of what did they do after they dragged her inside.”
